About the author

Pam Starnes began writing in elementary school. Her first story was about an acrobat at the circus. Since then, she’s written dramas, skits, short stories, countless speeches, and children’s books, which are her favorite genre. Her inspirations are the Bible and her grandchildren. She spends as much time as possible with her husband, Bo, her cat, her family, and her church family.

As a French and English teacher, Pam developed an appreciation for great literature from authors like Moliere, Shakespeare, and many others.

Teaching is her passion, and writing is her happy place.

Her other interests include vacationing with her husband and her family, swimming, reading, scrapbooking, doing crafts with her grandchildren, and attending Bible study with her friends from church.

Having studied the Bible for over forty-five years, she has a deep love for God’s inerrant, inspired Word. Psalm 23 has always been one of her favorites because she sees herself as one of the sheep in need of the Good Shepherd’s loving care. That Psalm and a book by W. Phillip Keller entitled A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 are the inspirations for her latest book The Adventures of Lily Sally and the Prickly Bush. Silly Sally is a sheep who gets into trouble. She needs her shepherd to help her escape various trials and troubles. Readers are encouraged on the last page that the Good Shepherd watches over them. Look for more adventures of Silly Sally in this series.

About the Illulstrator

Naomi Rain is a wonderful and creative little girl who loves drawing, makeup, volleyball, and telling people about the love of Jesus Christ. Her craft has been honed by countless hours of practice, innumerable pieces of printer paper, and many, many drawings on the walls that simply will not be removed.

Naomi Rain dedicates the rest of her time to her schoolwork and playing with her little brother whom she loves dearly almost all of the time. Naomi Rain’s love of life, family, and nature appear in her numerous artistic works, which still obscure the refrigerator to this very day.

Naomi Rain was born in Texas but made her way north too North Carolina at a young age. She and her Mimi spend a lot of time together talking, crafting, sewing, and drawing. She illustrated Silly Sally after she and her Mimi memorized Psalm 23. The drawings and the story just came together. When she’s not at school, her favorite activities are playing volleyball and swimming in Mimi’s pool and hanging out with friends.
